It's best if you shave and exfoliate REALLY well the DAY BEFORE your tan. When it's time for your tan, leave the lotions and deodorants on the counter. It is okay to apply a light layer of moisturizer on your face, but try to stay away from anything more.

Shaving your legs right before your tan opens your pores leaving them wide open for the solution to be absorbed. This can leave your legs with itty bitty dots all over. If you MUST shave before your tan, run ice-cold water over your legs to close the pores OR shave right before your event a few days after your tan. Stay away from tight clothing and lotions after your tan too. It's best to give your tan plenty of time to dry and breathe so it looks it's best!
